CRM Setup

Set up SourceTag with Nutshell CRM

When a visitor submits a form with SourceTag data, the attribution fields need somewhere to go in Nutshell. You need to create custom contact fields that match the SourceTag field names.

What you need

  • SourceTag installed and form hidden fields set up
  • Nutshell CRM account with admin access

Step 1: Go to custom fields

In Nutshell, go to Setup > Custom Fields > People.

Step 2: Create custom fields

Create a new text field for each SourceTag data point:

Core fields (create these)

Field nameLabelType
st_fc_channelFirst Click ChannelText
st_fc_detail_1First Click Smart Field 1Text
st_fc_detail_2First Click Smart Field 2Text
st_fc_detail_3First Click Smart Field 3Text
st_fc_detail_4First Click Smart Field 4Text
st_lc_channelLast Click ChannelText
st_lc_detail_1Last Click Smart Field 1Text
st_lc_detail_2Last Click Smart Field 2Text
st_lc_detail_3Last Click Smart Field 3Text
st_lc_detail_4Last Click Smart Field 4Text
st_fc_landing_pageFirst Click Landing PageText
st_lc_landing_pageLast Click Landing PageText

Optional extended fields

Field nameLabelType
st_fc_click_idST First Click IDText
st_lc_click_idST Last Click IDText
st_visitsST VisitsNumber
st_days_to_convertST Days to ConvertNumber
st_deviceST DeviceText

See Captured Fields for the full list of available fields.

Step 3: Map the fields

Connect your form submissions to Nutshell. How you do this depends on your setup:

Nutshell Web Forms: If using Nutshell’s built-in web forms, map the hidden fields from your form to the custom fields you created.

Zapier/Make: If your forms connect to Nutshell via Zapier or Make, map each SourceTag hidden field to the corresponding Nutshell custom field in your Zap/scenario.

Direct integration: If your form builder has a direct Nutshell integration, map the fields in the integration settings.

Step 4: Test

Submit a form with UTM parameters:

?utm_source=test&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=test-campaign

Check the new contact in Nutshell. The custom fields should show the attribution data.

Tips

  • Nutshell custom field names are case-sensitive. Make sure the mapping matches exactly.
  • You can use Nutshell’s reporting to filter contacts by channel or campaign for ROI analysis.
  • Attribution data appears as custom fields on the person record, so you can view and filter by it directly.
